A
leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way. The
Ooni
of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi is no doubt a leader by all standard and
the first class young monarch definitely have a purpose, mission and
roles to play with his reign. In just few weeks of ascendancy to his
forefathers' throne, Oba Adeyeye has not just made a statement with
his crown but has proved the stuff he's made of as a frontline leader
of note who's got a date with destiny.
The
handsome man of style has made some reasonable moves that denote
nothing less than a calculative stratagem towards the peaceful
co-existence of not just the Yoruba race, but the whole nation.
Oba
Ogunwusi has so far made a historic statement with his elitist,
humane and extraordinary mannerism by visiting people and places with
a view to mending fences across the lenght anf breath of the country.
Shortly
after getting the ruling sceptre, his first sojourn was to break the
age long rivalry and perceived power tussle between the late Ooni,
Oba Okunade Sijuwade, the Olubuse 11 by visiting the Alaafin Of Oyo,
Oba Lamidi Adeyemi; this move was uproariously applauded by all and
sundry and as if that's not enough, the smart and intelligent royal
father averted what might have become the very scandal to rock his
throne but he handled the situation with his God's given wisdom.
Oba
Ogunwusi, the Ojaja 11 added another feathers to his ''spiritual
Are'' Crown when the Owa Obokun Of Ijeshaland, Oba Aromolaran threw
caution to the wind at a public function over who the next chairman
of the Osun State traditional rulers should be and with his brilliant
discretional judgement again, he swung into acting to pour oil on
troubled waters by storming the palace of Kabiyesi Oba Aromolaran
where he unequivocally addressed issues and appeased the Owa Obokun
giving honour to who honour is due as an elder who's old in the game
of traditional ruling.
In
what looks like forging ahead with his nationwide peace mission, the
Ojaja 11 was a guest at the Aso Rock Villa today, Febryary 16th,
2016 where he met with President Mohammed Buhari. During his meeting,
Oba Ogunwusi made it known that empowerment of the youth is his
utmost concern stating that with the dwindling oil economy, it is
necessary to get back to the farms and other non oil sector. Speaking
with State House correspondents after a private meeting with
president Mohammadu Buhari at the presidential villa, Abuja, the
first class traditional ruler said already, he had held meetings with
the Minister of Agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbe to work out the
modalities of empowering the youth through agriculture. H.R.H. Oba
Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife recalling to President
Buhari that agriculture was the mainstay of the nation’s economy
before now, Ooni revealed that he had assembled 200,000 youths who
were ready to engage in agro-activities, saying that 5 acres of land
had been mapped out for each youth. “The meeting with the President
was about peace and progress of the nation which he stands for. What
is also key is youth empowerment. That is the main purpose of this
meeting. “There is a lot. I am currently working with the Minister
of Agriculture. We have been able to assemble over 200,000 youths
within a space of 30 days. It is unbelievable. We are encouraging
them to go back to the farm.
