Video : R. Kelly's Bizzare Bombshell! 'I Ask My Mum To Marry M

Singer R. Kelly has been a beacon of controversy for the better part of two decades but most recently, there has been a resurgence in his name being swirled around thanks to the interviews he has chosen to take on.
Shortly before Christmas, he made headlines when he repeatedly refused to answer any questions during his sit-down with Huffington Post before walking out of the interview all together. And just last week, the 49-year-old R&B icon gave GQ one of the most bizarre interviews ever witnessed where he managed to defend Bill Cosby, claim he didn't know who Dave Chappelle was and stopped and stuttered when it came to discussing Aaliyah.
GQ not only got Kelly on record but they got him on film as well (no, not like that). During the second installment of their interview with the man whose last studio release's title,The Buffet was upgraded from White Panties, there are plenty more eyebrow-raising moments; in both senses of the phrase.
Kelly's mother Joanne died in 1993, shortly before his first album was released, which instantaneously made him into a superstar. Opening up for GQ's cameras, Kellz vividly remembers his outings to McDonalds with his mother where he would drink from the lipstick-stained portion of her coffee and he even admitted to having affections for that delve deep into the realm of the Oedipus complex.
"In a son/mother way, I had a serious, serious crush on my mom," Kelly recalled. "I just looked up and down to her. I looked around. I looked everything about my mother. Y'know, I loved her. And I even asked her to marry me on day--she said 'no,' but I understood."
During the next interview portion of the encounter, the highly decorated signer flipped the script and sung as he ran through his life story--for 45 minutes. It's a tale of love, joy and pain that has been reflected without a shadow of a doubt through the man's professional and personal life.

Ex-AGN Boss, Ibinabo Fiberesima In Fresh Murder Trouble

The Appeal court sitting in  Lagos, south west Nigeria has adjourned for  judgement  the appeal filed by star actress, former beauty queen and immediate past president of the Actors' Guild of Nigeria, Ibinabo Fiberesima challenging the judgement of a Lagos High Court which sentenced her to five years imprisonment for causing the death  of a Lagos Medical Doctor  Giwa Suraj.
The embattled actress was sentenced to five years imprisonment by Justice Deborah Oluwayemi for reckless driving which caused the death of one Dr. Giwa Suraj in an auto accident along  Lekki-Epe expressway, Lagos State.
The deceased was a staff of one of Lagos state’s hospitals.
At the hearing of the appeal today, January 28th, 2016 the appellate court presided over by Justice U.I. Ndukwe-Anyanwu (Mrs.)adjourned for judgement in the appeal after counsel adopted their written addresses.
The court also directed that the appellant (Fiberesima) who was not in court to appear when judgement is to be delivered adding that the date will be communicated to the parties.
Fiberesima had earlier been fined a N100, 000  by an Igbosere Chief Magistrate, Mr. O.A. Isaacs but the then Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Olasupo Sasore (SAN), felt unsatisfied with the judgement and appealed. This prompted the state government to take its case to the Lagos High Court.
At the Lagos high court, Justice Oluwayemi set aside the option of fine imposed by the Magistrate’s Court and sentenced Fiberesima to five years imprisonment for dangerous and reckless driving.
In her judgment, Justice Oluwayemi held that the trial Magistrate exercised judicial recklessness when he gave the convict an option of fine.
The court held that the option of N100, 000 given to the convict did not serve the purpose of justice in the matter and subsequently ordered that the N100, 000 should be returned back to Ibinabo Fiberesima.
The court noted that the trial Magistrate must have misdirected himself based on the plea of leniency made by the counsel to the convict that she is a working mother.
Justice Oluwayemi held that Sections 28 of the Traffic Law on which the accused person was convicted does not give an option of fine stressing that when term of imprisonment is mandatory the court cannot and should not give an option of fine.
The court added that Section 28 of the Road Traffic Law clearly provides that where a reckless and dangerous driving has caused the death of a person, the accused person shall be guilty of an offence and is liable on conviction to imprisonment of seven years.
Dissatisfied with the judgement of the high court, Fiberesima in her amended appellant brief filed by her lawyer, Nnaemeka Amaechina before the Court of Appeal urged the court to set aside the five year sentence and restore the decision of the Magistrate Court.
Adopting his brief of argument today, Amaechina argued that the Magistrate’s Court exercised its discretion properly and there was no ground to review it by the high court.
He submitted that by virtue of the Notice of Increased in Jurisdiction of Magistrates, No. 7 of 2006, the trial Magistrate could only impose a maximum of 7 years imprisonment or N100, 000.00 fine.
He added that N100, 000.00 fine is the maximum limit the trial Magistrate can impose as fine and that was what it imposed on the appellant.
In her response, counsel to Lagos State, Rotimi Odutola (Mrs.) argued that the law creating the offence of dangerous driving causing death has provided for a term of imprisonment as punishment for anyone convicted under section 28 hence the trial Magistrate ought not to exercise such arbitrary discretion to impose N100.000.00 as fine.
Odutola further submitted that the children of the deceased have been permanently deprived of the ‘’measureless contributions’’ of their father to their lives as a result of his death caused by the appellant.
She urged the court to uphold the judgement of the Lagos High Court and dismiss the appeal.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command had in 2005 charged the ex-beauty queen [Fiberesima] to the magistrate court on a two-count charge of dangerous and reckless driving along Epe Expressway, Lagos which resulted to the death of Dr. Giwa Suraj.
In his judgment, Magistrate O.A Isaacs, found Fiberesima guilty on the two-count charge, sentenced her to seven years imprisonment on count one and two years imprisonment on count two or in the alternative, a fine of N100,000.
Besides, the trial Magistrate held that his pronouncement on the matter was in accordance with the provision of section 21 (a) of the notice of increase in jurisdiction of magistrates.

Eritrean Minister Denies His Country's Trending Polygamy-Story

Etrirean President Isaias Afwerki

One of the funny memes captioned, 'People Storm Eritrean embassy for visa application

Another one with captioned, 'Nigerian men just back from Eritrea'
A satirical story that Eritrean men have been ordered to marry at least two wives, which has been shared across Africa and rest of the world, has upset Eritrean officials.
"Even a madman in [the Eritrean capital] Asmara would know that this story was not true," an Eritrean official told the BBC.
The hoax was first published online on a Kenyan news site called Crazy Monday.
Some men have commented on Twitter that they are ready to travel to Eritrea to find a new wife while the false information has generated loads of social media tantrums and funny memes especially from creatived-minded and hilarious graphic artists in Nigeria and world over.
Crazy Monday, which is published by the Standard newspaper, is well known for its focus on scandalous stories and gossip as part of an attempt to attract a younger readership, says Mathias Muindi from the BBC's media monitoring service.
But this has not stopped it being reported in many countries from Nigeria to South Africa, with some suggesting that it was true and were even ready to storm the country.
The story said that to make up for the shortage of men in the country, following the civil war with Ethiopia from 1998-2000, every man must marry at least two women or face imprisonment.
It has been trending on Twitter in Nigeria, and other countries, for several days with people sharing links to the Eritrea's visa application documents.

'Dark Forces'

Eritrea's Information Minister Yemane Gebremeskel tweeted that "the media frenzy to parrot this ludicrous, fabricated and trite story... is appalling".
In another tweet Mr Yemane said "the story illustrates [the] vileness of the dark forces of disinformation and proclivity of others to readily embrace the negative narrative on Eritrea".
The New York-based group Human Rights Watch says that there is a "dismal human rights situation" in Eritrea and the restrictions there, including on the freedom of expression, have led some to call it the North Korea of Africa.

Union Bank Offers 2106 SMART Financial Progress

Emeka Emuwa- Union Bank MD

Everyone desires financial success, but that desire must be matched with SMART financial goals to translate to success.
Most times, we set financial goals that are self-defeating. The reason why it seems like New Year resolutions to eat healthier or exercise regularly almost always fail by the second month of the year is because most times, we do not set clear parameters for success. In the end, our resolution becomes merely a wish.
Setting S.M.A.R.T. financial goals forces us to become accountable and ensures that we actualize our goals towards financial security.
With a brand promise to make banking simply and smarter, Union Bank has created several solutions to ensure that customers meet their financial goals when they make SMART decisions about their finances.
MAKING S.M.A.R.T FINANCIAL GOALS:
1. BE SPECIFIC
First, your financial goals should be as specific as possible in order to successfully achieve exactly what you want. Always include as much detail as possible.
How much do I earn?
How much do I spend?
What are my fixed expenses?
How much disposable income do I have?
Being able to answer this questions then you can know exactly how much you have to spend.
Union Bank created the UnionKorrect savings scheme to conveniently help its customers achieve their financial goals. Whether your dream is to buy a car or save towards the purchase of a land, with as little as N5000 monthly savings with your UnionKorrect account, we will set you on a path to achieving your dream over a set period of time. In addition, with UnionKorrect customers stand a chance to win up to N1million in a quarterly draw. With UnionKorrect, you can save small and do big things. To open a UnionKorrect account, call 0700 700 7000.

2. YOUR GOAL SHOULD BE MEASURABLE
In order to achieve your goal, it must be measurable. For example, simply saying “I want to save more” is not measurable. Even if you have a vague idea of what that would mean for yourself, you have no way of knowing when you’ve achieved it or how you plan to achieve it. If you were to say, “I would like to save N1, 000,000 in 4 years for a plot of land” this would be measurable and achievable with a UnionKorrect account. A standing instruction is placed on your existing Union Bank account and your UnionKorrect account is credited monthly with starting at N5000 or any multiple amount you specify.
A standing order (or a standing instruction) is an instruction a bank account holder gives to his or her bank to pay a set amount at regular intervals to another account.
3. IS YOUR GOAL ATTAINABLE?
Ensure to set financial goals that are attainable. This is why setting specific, detailed goals are important. By identifying what you hope to achieve, you can identify potential roadblocks and obstacles that could make it difficult to get where you want to be financially.
4. BE REALISTIC
Much like your goal should be attainable, it should also be realistic. While we aren’t suggesting that realistic should equal easy, ensure that your goals present a challenge you are able to overcome. It will take effort but it is not impossible.
5. TIMELY
Lastly, ensure that your goal is timely. In order to be measurable, your goals must have a well-defined timeframe. Often times, we do not consider time when we set our goals and it leads us to setting high expectations over a short period of time, causing us to abandon our goals midway when we don’t see the desired progress. UnionKorrect is a tenured savings solution that helps you achieve financial progress over a reasonably set period of time ensuring that you are not overstretched as you work towards your financial goals.
So, have you set your SMART financial goals? Call Union Bank today on 0700 700 7000 and sign up for UnionKorrect or any of our other financial solutions to help you achieve you goals.

Must Watch Video : 'Been Earning $1m Since I Was 40'- Akwa Ibom Gov. Boasts

If the claims of the governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency Udom Gabriel Emmanuel to have been earning $1m (about N200m) per annum as a staff at Zenith Bank Plc since he was 40 years old, then the man who turns 50 later this year is stupendous rich and should be a muti millionnaire in dollars, by all standard.
In a recent interview monitored on TV this morning by your darling National Enquirer, Governor Udom boasted how he's been on board of many multinational companies earning up to a million US dollars as basic salary every year since he was 40 years old, 'I don't know why some people who cannot manage anything at above 50 years of age can be running down people like us, in my village, my father's compound was one of the best, though by that standard then, so what are we talking about', I have been earning up to $&m since I was 40', he boasted.
Gov. Udom who was born on July 11th, 1966 in Awa Oman in Akwa Ibom State will be 50 this year.
The interview, though short xrays the governor's past as a stupendously rich silverspoon who by all standard should be in the league of Nigeria's richest men and in our facts finding mission, we have resolved to do a background checks on the claims of the governor by verifying from Zenith Bank and other establishments he has served before he eventually became the governor of his State on May 29th, 2015 ;

Buhari Set To Prosecute Friends, Corrupt APC Top Shots

ABUJA — Senator Shehu Sani (APC, Kaduna Central Zone) has said that over $200 billion was being stashed away in the United Arab Emirates, UAE, specifically, its global financial hub, Dubai, by corrupt Nigerians.
Buhari, last week in UAE, signed a “Judicial Agreements on Extradition, Transfer of Sentenced Persons, Mutual Legal Assistance on Criminal Matters, and Mutual Legal Assistance on Criminal and Commercial Matters, which includes the recovery and repatriation of stolen wealth.”
Senator Sani said he was making the revelation from the point of strength as the chairman, Senate Committee on Foreign and Domestic Debts, as well as Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Sani, who was fielding questions from journalists after women supporters from his political ward paid him a solidarity visit at one of his campaign offices in Kaduna, told reporters that any corrupt person warming to President Muhammadu Buhari for cover would be exposed, investigated and prosecuted.
He said: “Corrupt Nigerians have stashed unbelievable amount of monies in Dubai alone in the name of estates acquisition, purchase of exotic houses and business partnership in the last 16 years. Some have stashed raw cash. This is why the US, and Europe are making conditions for laundering of money into their countries very difficult.
These crooks have now found it conducive to use the Middle East and South East Asia as their destinations. They use names of their cronies, family members and friends to siphon public funds out of Nigeria.
Some of them are APC members, who had their political upbringing in the then ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Sooner than later those who are parading themselves as Buhari’s friends, but are corrupt, will be interrogated, prosecuted because the President does not know friend or relation as far as the fight against corruption is concerned.”
It was based on the information on the quantity and quality of the assets of corrupt Nigerians, that President Buhari had to sign that agreement with UAE at Abu Dhabi. I can tell you that it was smart and patriotic move.
Let me advise the President to steer clear of hypocrites, because it is better to live with an enemy than hypocrite because hypocrite derives joy from stabbing one’s back.
Over $200 billion Dollars are stashed away from Nigeria to Dubai alone. This may the monies stolen since in the past 20 years. I am not talking about estates and bonds and other securities bought with Nigeria stolen money.
Buhari is going to recover all these monies and assets with the help of UAE.
If you notice now, since the agreement, some of the corrupt persons are now rushing to Dubai to effect changes in the ownerships of the ill-gotten assets. But, they are just wasting their time.
President Buhari needs the support of all Nigerians to wipe out corruption from the country. The President is on rescue mission. He needs our support.
We cannot sit down idly and watch people sabotaged Buhari, and I can tell you that since Buhari went to Dubai, there were three attempts to sabotage Buhari’s government.
The first one was that they planted a story in newspapers that there was crisis in Buhari’s government because he went to Dubai;
The second one was that they planted fake lists of Nigerians that have property in Dubai, while we were waiting for the original list of those who have houses in Dubai. And the third one was to sponsor foreign media to discredit Buhari’s economic policies”, he said.
Earlier, leader of the women group, Hajiya Azumi Madugu, hailed Sani as friend of the poor and an enemy of oppression.

Britain's Exit Threatens EU's Existence, 'Yes, EU May Break-Up In 6 Weeks'-France PM

THE Dutch prime minister said the future of the European Union could be decided in just six weeks if the bloc doesn't get a handle on the migrant crisis, as panicking France begs Britain to stay in the union.

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte gave the EU the deadline to get a handle on the influx of refugees from conflict zones in the Middle East and elsewhere - or face the bloc breaking up.
He told a panel on Europe at the World Economic Forum in Davos: "We have six to eight weeks."
Meanwhile French prime minister Manuel Valls admitted the EU “could very well break up in a very short time”.
He warned the ongoing refugee crisis across Europe and the threat of Islamic State (ISIS) terrorism could spell the end of the political union on the continent.
Speaking at a summit of global elites in the exclusive Davos ski resort in Switzerland, the French politician suggested the EU had not been built to withstand “such powerful crises” of an unprecedented flow of migrants across the bloc’s borders or ISIS-inspired attacks.
Mr Valls described Britain’s possible exit from the EU at an upcoming referendum as a “tragedy”, while hoping a deal on the UK’s membership could be reached in February.
Having earlier thanked fellow EU member states for their solidarity in the wake of the Paris terror attacks last November, he said: “Europe may not have been conceived in order to face up to such powerful crises as that of the refugees or the terrorist menace.
We will have to live for decades or for many years with this menace or this threat and that's why it's a war. There are many generations that will have to live with this and the crisis will have to be managed in north Africa and the Middle East.
He added: “We have to live with this it's a part of our lives now. It's a challenge and it's a feeling history can be tragic and Europe could very well break up in a very short time. We have to be realistic.”
But despite his warnings over the current crises facing the EU, the French prime minister said solutions would be found in “more of Europe not less of Europe”.
Mr Valls also urged British voters to reject the chance to cut ties with Brussels, adding: “Seeing Britain leave the European Union would be a tragedy.
"We must do everything for Britain and the British people ... to stay in the European Union.”
But Mr Valls warned Britain would not be able to remain an EU member “at just any condition”.
French president Francois Hollande reiterated his prime minister’s remarks later, as he warned David Cameron his ongoing renegotiation of Britain’s relationship with Brussels must respect the EU’s founding principles such

as the free movement of people.
He also said the Prime Minister’s demands for EU reforms, on which he hopes to reach an agreement at next month’s summit of EU leaders, would not be allowed to interfere with greater integration between countries using the euro single currency.
Mr Hollande said: "I will be particularly vigilant that the euro zone can pursue its integration, for me that is the essential point.
"If Britain wants to go its own way within the EU we can allow it, but that cannot prevent the countries that want to go further in integration, monetary for example”.
Mr Rutte, who was speaking on a panel alongside Mr Valls at the World Economic Forum in Davos, also said he was “fairly optimistic” the EU could agree a deal on Britain’s membership in February although he added he was “not absolutely sure”.
Mr Rutte claimed Britain being outside the EU would be “worse off” and “won’t have the influence it has in the world it has today”.
He added: “Isn't it strange to even debate a Brexit at a time when the world is facing all these huge issues and challenges?”
The annual Davos summit is often criticised for only being attended by globe-trotting elites and wealthy businessmen, while others wonder what it actually achieves.
But Mr Rutte urged those in the audience to intervene on the Brexit referendum and “don’t leave it only to politicians” to campaign for Britain to remain in the EU.
