The
National Caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has favoured
the one time governor of the Borno state and senator of the federal
republic of Nigeria, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, to step up his
political game as the new acting national chairman of the party.
If
Modu Sheriff gets the concurrent endorsement of the Board of Trustees
and the National Executive Council of the party later this Wednesday,
Sheriff would formally take over as the replacement for the former
national chairman from the north east, Alhaji Adamu Mu'azu.
The
National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh who said
this while addressing Journalists at the PDP Media centre a short
while ago, said after a careful consideration of all the individuals
that showed interest in occupying the chairmanship seat and following
separate assessments conducted by various power blocks, the governors
forum, BoT, NWC and National Caucus, the ex-Borno governor emerged
the common choice for the coveted seat.
He
said the choice of Sheriff came as a result independently held
