The Cape Verde Island born first lady of Edo State, Mrs.Lara Oshiomhole has reacted to the rumour making the rounds in some online publications of the alleged divorce suit against her husband, Governor Adams Oshiomhole. There had been serious controversy when the news of the divorce of the governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole and his new wife, Lara broke out.
The
spokesperson at the Edo State government house has spoken on behalf
of the first lady of Edo State on the malicious rumours, calling
them "warped
imaginations of the purveyors of lies," and
that the new bride had no reason to leave her husband.
The
reports had revealed that the young bride had asked for divorce on
grounds that her husband was too fetish. The reprots had gone on to
reveal that Adams had been responsible for the death of his first
wife, Mrs Clara
Oshiomole, at the Abuja clinic, Maitama, after
a long battle with cancer.
The
Executive Director, Media and Public Affairs, Governor’s
Office, John
Mayaki,
in a press statement which was issued by the state, revealed that she
had been busy holding meetings and brainstorming on how to better
the lots of the less-privileged, Women and Children in the state
through her pet project.
The
statement went on to read:
"The
rumour mongers are well advised to find more productive engagements
to deploy their energies rather than market inanities about public
personalities all in their bid to sell their medium. Which Court of
Law was the alleged divorce initiated and to whom was it served?
Which country, state, municipal or county, if any, is the Court
situated? And when was the action/suit filed? Of course the writers
didn’t bother to inform their readers. The truth however is that
the answers only exist in the warped imagination of the purveyors of
the lies."
