She
would have made a career statement in the entertainment business
early enough in life but for her dad who stood his ground and refused
vehemently that its education first, before anything. And that's the
beginning of Ene's story of life. As a 9 year old pupil, the lanky
dark skinned lady with an inviting dimples got a golden opportunity
to be featured in an epic movie but the offer was turned down by her
disciplinarian dad.
''My
dad refused, I can't believe it, I was invited to be part of a movie
audition then and was lucky to be among the 6 young people they chose
for the movie, I think it was titled, Amiwu which means The Pot of
Life in Benin language but I missed it, it was a story I won't forget
in my life'', she told us during an interview session in North
London.
Even
though I got discouraged by dad's decision at my early days, I knew
that, for whatever it is this man was up to, am going to end up
living my life as an actor. Though, I know he was being protective of
me and it was for my own benefit, I still promised myself to find out
what I missed then.
Born
in Lagos, Nigeria to parents who both hail from .Bayelsa state, Ene
Oloye got so many movie roles which she couldn't be part of, ''I was
casted for a sitcom, Hotel De Jordan, then Casino Manager but its all
good, at least I did what he wanted''.
And
what did her dad want from her? ''Its education o'', she quipped
excitedly and I think I tried a little, now I can live my life the
way I want. I had my early education in Benin city, old Bendel state,
Nigeria now Edo state.
After my secondary education, I got admission to the University of Benin, where I had Diploma in Social works and a Degree course in Health Education.
Then I had further studies in the United Kingdom, my Post graduate qualification is in Social Works at Chiltern University, Buckinghamshire and Practice Teaching at the Holloway University, London, UK.

Having
satisfied her dad to pursue education to a reasonable extent, the
diligent daddy's girl started life, ''I met my husband, don't want to
reveal so much about my private life but his name is Francois, he's a
white man, he was into deforestation then, he was in the Timber
industry before venturing to business, he's been so supportive of my
acting career,'' she said.
On
how she finally got the acting opportunity again, I heard about it on
TV and I said to myself am not going to miss this, this time, so I
got the contacts of the people involved and here I am, like they say,
the rest is history. Aside acting, I work as a Social worker,
Practice Educator and presenter.
