SILENT WAR BETWEEN FUNKE AKINDELE, MERCY AIGBE AND MOVIE DIRECTOR MUYIDEEN S. SASILIU

SILENT WAR BETWEEN FUNKE AKINDELE, MERCY AIGBE AND MOVIE DIRECTOR MUYIDEEN S. SASILIU

Multiple awards winning actress Funke Akindele might need to take things more easy especially because she’s currently seen as a role model to many youths so also are upcoming actresses. The actress with exceptional acting skills according to impeccable sources did not put professionalism into play during the premiere of her much talked about movie, titled The Return Of Jenifer, TROJ which took place at Muson Centre, Onikan Lagos recently. Everyone who was privileged to attend the movie premiere and saw the event’s brochure would consent to the fact that names like, the director of the movie Muyideen S. Sasiliu and Mercy Aigbe’s who was also one of the casts were conspicuously missing for reason still unknown to them and the public, while names of the rest casts and crew were included. The reason, according to an industry source might not be unconnected to Mercy Aigbe’s newest comedy movie, Osas Omoge Benin that is currently the talk in the Yoruba Industry titled which was also directed by Muyideen S. Sasiliu. Sources divulged that Funke Akindele upon seeing the adverts of OSAS, and the interest her marketer and partner, Alhaji Hakeem Balogun of Olasco Films had in the flicks, we learnt Olasco has even paid an undisclosed amount to Mercy to market the movie through LAWLAH His Grace, another marketer who registered under him. This, according to sources might have informed why Funke went to town to say the movie’s storyline was not different from her Jenifer and that the actress stole her story and even went ahead to use her director. Meanwhile findings in the industry revealed that the easy going director, Muyi has also been directing for Mercy’s Aigbe for a while and even worked on her last movie titled Afe Aiye before Osas. Mercy and Muyi as the director is fondly called we gathered were more than shocked to see their names missing on the list of TROJ casts and crew while names of even those who took as little as ‘waka pass’ were duly credited at the cinema on day of premiere. Funke’s grievance with Muyi, we learnt might be precipitated on his agreement to direct OSAS.  Mercy and Muyideen we also learnt were disappointed in Funke for letting her personal judgment ruled over professionalism.
