Assassins Killed Amokachi’s Brother
Unknown gunmen struck in Kaduna yesterday, killing a 30-year-old man simply identified as Ayuwa. He was said to be a relation of former Super Eagles striker, Daniel Amokachi.
The deceased, who was said to be living in a family house of the Nigeria’s ex-International, was shot at in the early hours of yesterday and was rushed to a hospital where he was confirmed dead.
Reacting to the attack, a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Lawal Bawa, who lives in the same street where the incident occurred, said, all these ugly happenings are not unexpected, it’s all as a result of injustice in the country. The killing is no longer new, it has been happening.
However, I am pleading with the government to do something more pragmatic; let them try as much as possible to engage these youths by means of creating employment opportunities, so that all these unemployed youths get something doing, he urged.
Confirming the incident, Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, Aminu Lawal, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said, ‘The young man was shot but was taken to a hospital where he was confirmed dead. We are investigating the incident.
Poor thing. May he rest in peace and may our youths be more productive and compelling to positive intentions to a brighter and more appreciated Nigeria with the spirit and Light of God Be shone in the hearts of the hopeless,less priviledged, hardworking politicians and everyother person in general.
