Christian Doherty Emerges Glo Naija Sing Winner
The season 3 edition of the annual reality TV show that
discovers music talent and makes another rising star in the emerging Nigeria
music industry, Glo Naija Sing has come to an end with the winner chosen from one
of the hottest three finalists, Christian, Mattade and Vicky.
Christian Doherty, the
oldest among the Top 10 contestants and jack-of-many-trades is the winner of
this year’s Glo Naija sing and will be walking home with a $100,000 cash, a state
of the art RAV 4 Jeep, a and a recording deal.
Christian who believes
that now is his time to be on top and celebrated is so dumbfounded when he was
announced last night. The 35-year-old, Abuja-based comedian, musician and
businessman digs R&B and hip-hop fusion. He also plays football and does
Taekwondo. The “right person for the throne” as he describes himself, is
looking forward to improving on his audibility - and blowing Africa away.
The $100,000 cheque and the key to the RAV 4 were presented
to him by the managing director of MNET, Biola Alabi who congratulated him and
gave words of appreciation to the title sponsor, Glomobile. Chritian’s winning
track, will be released tomorrow, November 13th, 2011.
