The remains of one of Africa`s
fashion icons, Remi Osholake a.k.a Remi Lagos were last Friday, November 16th,
2012 cremated in London after a befitting lying in state organized by her close
friends, family members and top celebrities. The kind hearted woman who`s a
Buddhist died without any child and husband.
The lying in state procession for
the renowned fashion designer, Remi Lagos took place on Thursday, November 15th,
at JH Kenyon, A top rate funeral home that has handled memorial service for the
British monarch and very important personalities, it is located on 83
Westbourne Grove W24UL and the funeral service held at the Golders Green
crematorium, Hooplane while the reception held at The Tapestry Room, The Gore Hotel, 190 Queens SW75EX.
The late celebrated icon, Remi Lagos is
one of Nigeria’s most popular fashion designers. She was trained at the East
Croydon School of Art & Design, Chelsea School of Art & Design and
Inchbald School of Art & Interior Design. She managed to expand the
creative phases of her fashion outfit, Remi Lagos on prestigious fashion
runways in Europe, the United States of America and Africa.
She carved a niche for herself in the fashion
industry having put in more than 25 years. She was noted for her quietness and
her love for black outfits, an inspiration she drew from her faith as a
Buddhist.
According to her only sister, Tomi Osholake a.k.a Cleopatra who spoke
to Enquirer at the burial, she confirmed Remi Lagos as been a Buddhist, “Remi
lived her dream as a Buddhist, and she has always said she would love to be
cremated”, Cleopatra who`s also a Metaphysician of the highest realm told us in
an exclusive interview which we`ll run in our next edition. She`s the only
surviving sister of the fashion icon.
Top celebrities who honoured her by flying to the
U.K to pay their last respect include Chief Dele Momodu, Publisher of Ovation
Magazine, Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo of the Holy Trinity
Ministries, Frank Osodi, Helen Priest-Ajayi and Funmi Iyanda both of whom
championed the logistics arrangements with the deceased UK based sister,
Cleopatra.
