APC has denied naming former Attorney General of Lagos State, Prof. Yemi Osibajo as the Vice Presidential candidate of the party. The social media had been awash with reports that Prof. Osibajo is the running mate to General Buhari.
National
Publicity Secretary of APC, Lai Mohammed told news men over the phone that the
party is still deliberating on available option. He said APC will be detailed
and thorough in its considerations.
Meanwhile in another development,
Information gathered on the dirty past of the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s
pastor, Prof. Osibajo is not favourably palatable.
According to sources, Prof Osibajo had served as
the lead legal counsel to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in his petition
against the election of President Jonathan’s former boss, late President Umar
Yar’Adua. Available information allegedly indicates that Prof. Osibajo betrayed
the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar who his client at that time.
Dependable sources revealed that, Prof Osibajo
allegedly connived with Wole Olanipekun who was the lead legal counsel to the
then President Yar’Adua – to subvert the legal process and to derail Atiku
Abubakar’s chances of possible victory at the Supreme Court. Interestingly,
Osibajo was seconded as Yar’Adua’s Chief Legal Consultant on the advice of Bola
Ahmed Tinubu.
Prof Osibajo is reported to be Tinubu’s anointed candidate
for the vice presidential slot but it has been ratified according to the statement by the party’s
National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.
In a related development, the Governor Rotimi
Amaechi’s camp appears unhappy with the way the pendulum of APC’s choice of VP is
swinging particularly considering his political weight, frantic effort to face and
discredit the Jonathan’s administration and above all his financial investment so
far, all these are what we gathered some school of thoughts are looking at for Amaechi's candidacy as the VP.
It remains unsure if the grumblings within the
party will result to the possible decampment of involved personalities.
