Orhii took over from the late Professor Dora Akunyili, whose tenure at the agency has remained a focal point in the country.
Orhii, according to sources, arrived the EFCC headquarter in Abuja in the morning and was questioned for several hours.
The NAFDAC boss is facing serious allegations from an aggrieved former Finance Director of the agency, Ademola Mogbojuri, who also alleged persecution from Orhii.
For many weeks, the agency had taken to various platforms, including Facebook, to deny the allegations of financial misappropriation and looting of funds meant for the organisation.
He is alleged to have looted over N6 billion from the revenue generated from NAFDAC and that should have been paid into the Federation Account.
The NAFDAC boss, according to sources at the EFCC, was later allowed to return home and given a date to show up with some documents to back up his defence.
But the agency has denied that its boss was arrested by the EFCC. Instead, it said Orhii only visited the agency on a normal routine level.
"NAFDAC has been alerted to an online trending news of the visit of the Director General of NAFDAC to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC) today._
"The visit was a normal and routine process for those who are familiar with the procedure of an investigative Agency like EFCC.
"There is no huy and cry about this visit since it was normal for anyone who is accused to respond and clear his name accordingly. The DG was never arrested as being portrayed by these online portal.
"There's nothing unusual about this but to applaud the DG for his courage to want to engage the recalcitrant director who has decided to dance naked in the public and become a willing tool in the hands of the counterfeiters who want to infiltrate and derail an organised system," the statement signed by Abubakar Jimoh, the agency's _Director for Special Duties, said.
