The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, General Muhammadu Buhari, has emerged victorious in Saturday’s election in Ondo State. He defeated his closest rival and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, by over 40,000 votes. Ondo State is being governed by the Peoples Democratic Party. The state Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, had until this election enjoyed the invincibility fame in electoral contests. The election’s Returning Officer, Prof. Oyewole Olusola, announced the result. In another development, has also emerged the winner in Kogi State by polling 264,851 votes to beat the incumbent and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, who polled 149,987 votes. The Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Prof. Michael Adikwu, announced the results. In the result announced, APC scored 264,851 votes, PDP 149,987, ACPN 4,089, AA 700, AD 427, ADC 761, APA 144, KOWA 190, NCP 399, PPN 476, UDP 180, UPP 456. Votes cast in the election was 439,287, while 17,959 votes were invalidated. The total number of valid votes was 421,328. Kogi State is being governed by the Peoples Democratic Party.
