Untold Story of Lola, P-Square Peter’s Estranged Wedding Why Friends, Family Shunned Them

The much talked about wedding carnival between one of the nation’s most celebrated twin-artistes, Peter Okoye of P square fame and his mixed raced baby mother, Lola Omotayo has come and gone but the controversy trailing the celebration of love is what so many people have not heard about. According to the general over view, the turn out on the wedding day fell below expectation and also quite disappointing is the fact that key members of the groom’s family and notable music stars were conspicuously absent, and even to the extent that, the groom’s twin brother, Paul attended grudgingly.

Investigations gathered from the Okoyes revealed that, the wedding didn’t have the blessings of the groom’s late mum, little wonder his eldest brother, Jude who doubles as the group’s (P-Square) manager was not at the superlative wedding shindig, though he was said to have got stocked in Ghana, people in the know have however spilled the beans that Jude was actually at the Mavin records the night before the wedding where he was busy with Don Jazzy, Dr. Sid, Phyno and the rest working till next morning. This, we were told is his (Jude) own way of honouring their mother’s reservation and resentment for the wedding.

The mother of the twins, Peter and Paul Okoye, we gathered had been against the union from the outset and there were insinuations that the woman had pressed for parental testing (DNA) of the couple’s first boy before the strange sickness that led to her death. Unconfirmed reports have it that the woman had, in the throes of death, warned her children against the marriage more so that, Lola is of different tribe, Yoruba.

Another angle people are looking at that got them such a low turn-out at the event is the perceived arrogance of P Square , the talented twins, whom  we gathered are in the habit of shunning colleagues’ events, “they don’t honour their friends in any way, they believe they’re too large and the biggest artistes to have come out of Africa, they shunned Tu Face’s wedding in Dubai despite the fact that he invited them personally, and that’s not all, they also don’t extend hands of fellowship to help artistes for duets, except the few big names like Tu Face, Flavour and May D who they signed under their records label and left in a controversial manner”, a top artiste who preferred been anonymous told us.

“This is why almost all industry notables like Tu Face, D Banj, Davido, Whizkid, Naeto C, Waje, Omawunmi, Chidinma, Ikechukwu, Olamide and the rest didn’t attend, even the chairman of the occasion, Dr. Mike Adenuga Jr., whom they had bragged would attend, turned them down, this is in addition to their “perceived”cold shoulder treatment to members of the Fourth Estate of Realm who helped them when they were growing up. The twins don’t also honour media events or, have they ever performed for you media guys like Tu Face and the rest?” the anonymous artiste asked rhetorically.
