Stylish PR Guru, Tokunbo Modupe Loses Dad On Birthday

Renowned public relations practitioner, Adetokunbo Modupe is bereaved. The highly respected public relations guru lost his father, Pa Samuel Modupe Mondongho. He was aged 86. Mr. Mondongho, popularly called ‘Baba Owo’, died on March 16th, 2012 after a brief illness in his hometown Owo, Ondo State. He is survived by wife, children, and grand children. According to a close pals of Uncle Toks as he’s fondly called, the news of his father’s demise came to him as a shock since it was the same day that was his birthday and he had the plans of celebrating it with his immediate family. The source added that the easy going man was shocked beyond words when he got a call that morning that his aged dad has passed on. “He immediately changed his plans as he had to rush down to Owo to be sure it was true” the source stated. The late Pa Mondongho was described as a very humble, diligent, and hardworking person that would put his best into anything he did. When asked what he will remember most about his father, Toks said, “I will remember growing up days when we had this box TV and whoever wants to watch it will have to sit close to him (his father) to watch because when he is done he will switch it off and nobody then was bold enough to turn it on again”. Baba Owo was a retired electrical engineer. He had worked under notable personalities such as the famous Lawrence Omole of Ilesha, and the notable industrialist, late Ajanaku of Owo. He bagged his nickname ‘Baba Owo’ as a result of his industrious nature and popularity at his place of work. Preparations are in top gear towards giving Baba Owo a befitting burial. We at Enquirer sympathize with the entire family and pray that God grants them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
