Driver Robbed Popular Senator @ Gun Point

While some have argued that the gap between the rich and the poor in this part of the world is getting wider by the day, others believe it is the normal thing all over the world for the underprivileged to be continually submissive to the wealthy. However, a driver of a senator in the seat of power in Abuja, recently, Friday 30th of March 2012 around 12 noon to be precise, decided to take his destiny in his hands. The victim is Senator Ehigie Uzamere, an architect by profession and a legislator representing Edo South Senatorial District who was reportedly robbed of his car and a brief case containing huge sums of money and vital documents at gun point by his official driver, Mallam Mohammed Ibrahim. The briefcase according to close sources contained N4 million and $25,000 and of course, the senator must have planned to use the money for some important project. As the story goes, the Senator was actually on his way to the airport alongside his driver who drove him as he was travelling to China but suddenly discovered that part of the money in the briefcase were missing when he wanted to check if all his travelling documents were complete. Meanwhile our source narrated that he had earlier on left the driver in the car when he entered the Chinese Embassy to pick up his international passport. Apparently dissatisfied with the way and manner the money left the bag, he decided to return home and find a solution to the missing money”. According to the source, Senator Ehigie had asked the driver to abort the trip to the airport but surprisingly, on the way back home, Ibrahim having suspected that his act had been uncovered, suddenly parked the car, walked towards the senator’s door, put a gun to his head and ordered him to get off the car if he loved his life. The bewildered senator was allegedly pushed out of the car while Ibrahim sped off with the vehicle and a brief case containing the money and vital documents. It was learnt that the driver, Mallam Mohammed Ibrahim who had been his personal driver for the past seven years, is 35, and he`s from Niger State. We further gathered that the driver who had won the hearts of Uzamere’s family members over the years, later called a member of his boss’ household to come and pick the car somewhere in Life Camp area of the Federal Capital City, Abuja.
