Edo 1st Lady, Lara Oshiomhole Debunks Divorce Rumour

The Cape Verde Island born first lady of Edo State, Mrs.Lara Oshiomhole has reacted to the rumour making the rounds in some online publications of the alleged divorce suit against her husband, Governor Adams Oshiomhole. There had been serious controversy when the news of the divorce of the governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole and his new wife, Lara broke out.

The spokesperson at the Edo State government house has spoken on behalf of the first lady of Edo State on the malicious rumours, calling them "warped imaginations of the purveyors of lies," and that the new bride had no reason to leave her husband.
The reports had revealed that the young bride had asked for divorce on grounds that her husband was too fetish. The reprots had gone on to reveal that Adams had been responsible for the death of his first wife, Mrs Clara Oshiomole, at the Abuja clinic, Maitama, after a long battle with cancer.

The Executive Director, Media and Public Affairs, Governor’s Office, John Mayaki, in a press statement which was issued by the state, revealed that she had been busy holding meetings and brainstorming on how to better the lots of the less-privileged, Women and Children in the state through her pet project.

The statement went on to read:
"The rumour mongers are well advised to find more productive engagements to deploy their energies rather than market inanities about public personalities all in their bid to sell their medium. Which Court of Law was the alleged divorce initiated and to whom was it served? Which country, state, municipal or county, if any, is the Court situated? And when was the action/suit filed? Of course the writers didn’t bother to inform their readers. The truth however is that the answers only exist in the warped imagination of the purveyors of the lies."

Murder Plans Go Wrong, Woman Shocks Hubby...Surfaces On Own Funeral

A woman, Noela Rukundo whose husband had planned to kill has escaped miraculously and stormed their home to surprise the wicked man while sympathisers, friends and family were attending her funeral rites somewhere in Australia, reports have said.
Noela Rukundo sat in a car outside her home in Melbourne, Australia, watching as the last few mourners filed out. They were leaving a funeral — her funeral.
Finally, she spotted the man she’d been waiting for. She stepped out of her car, and her husband put his hands on his head in horror.
“Is it my eyes?” she recalled him saying. “Is it a ghost?”
“Surprise! I’m still alive!” she replied.
Far from being elated, the man looked terrified. Five days earlier, he had ordered a team of hit men to kill Rukundo, his partner of 10 years. And they did — well, they told him they did. They even got him to pay an extra few thousand dollars for carrying out the crime.
Now here was his wife, standing before him. In an interview with the BBC on Thursday, Rukundo recalled how he touched her shoulder to find it unnervingly solid. He jumped. Then he started screaming.
“I’m sorry for everything,” he wailed.
But it was far too late for apologies; Rukundo called the police. The husband, Balenga Kalala, ultimately pleaded guilty and was sentenced to nine years in prison for incitement to murder, according to the Australian Broadcasting Corp. (the ABC).
The happy ending — or as happy as can be expected to a saga in which a man tries to have his wife killed — was made possible by three unusually principled hit men, a helpful pastor and one incredibly gutsy woman: Rukundo.
Here is how she pulled it off.
Rukundo’s ordeal began almost exactly a year ago, when she flew from her home in Melbourne with her husband, Kalala, to attend a funeral in her native Burundi. Her stepmother had died, and the service left her saddened and stressed. She retreated to her hotel room in Bujumbura, the capital, early in the evening; despondent after the events of the day, she lay down in bed. Then her husband called.
“He told me to go outside for fresh air,” she told the BBC.
But the minute Rukundo stepped out of her hotel, a man charged forward, pointing a gun right at her.
“Don’t scream,” she recalled him saying. “If you start screaming, I will shoot you. They’re going to catch me, but you? You will already be dead.”
Rukundo, terrified, did as she was told. She was ushered into a car and blindfolded so she couldn’t see where she was being taken. After 30 or 40 minutes, the car came to a stop, and Rukundo was pushed into a building and tied to a chair.
She could hear male voices, she told the ABC. One asked her, “You woman, what did you do for this man to pay us to kill you?”
“What are you talking about?” Rukundo demanded.
“Balenga sent us to kill you.”
They were lying. She told them so. And they laughed.
“You’re a fool,” they told her.
There was the sound of a dial tone, and a male voice coming through a speakerphone. It was her husband’s voice.
“Kill her,” he said.
And Rukundo fainted.
Rukundo had met her husband 11 years earlier, right after she arrived in Australia from Burundi, according to the BBC. He was a recent refugee from Congo, and they had the same social worker at the resettlement agency that helped them get on their feet. Since Kalala already knew English, their social worker often recruited him to translate for Rukundo, who spoke Swahili.
They fell in love, moved in together in the Melbourne suburb of Kings Park, and had three children (Rukundo also had five kids from a previous relationship). She learned more about her husband’s past — he had fled a rebel army that had ransacked his village, killing his wife and young son. She also learned more about his character.
“I knew he was a violent man,” Rukundo told the BBC. “But I didn’t believe he can kill me.”
But, it appeared, he could.
Rukundo came into the strange building somewhere near Bujumbura. The kidnappers were still there, she told the ABC.
They weren’t going to kill her, the men then explained — they didn’t believe in killing women, and they knew her brother. But they would keep her husband’s money and tell him that she was dead. After two days, they set her free on the side of a road, but not before giving her a cellphone, recordings of their phone conversations with Kalala, and receipts for the $7,000 in Australian dollars they allegedly received in payment, according to Australia’sThe Age newspaper.
“We just want you to go back, to tell other stupid women like you what happened,” Rukundo said she was told before the gang members drove away.
Shaken, but alive and doggedly determined, Rukundo began plotting her next move. She sought help from the Kenyan and Belgian embassies to return to Australia, according to The Age. Then she called the pastor of her church in Melbourne, she told the BBC, and explained to him what had happened. Without alerting Kalala, the pastor helped her get back home to her neighborhood near Melbourne.
Meanwhile, her husband had told everyone she had died in a tragic accident and the entire community mourned her at her funeral at the family home. On the night of Feb. 22, 2015, just as the widower Kalala waved goodbye to neighbors who had come to comfort him, Rukundo approached him, the very man whose voice she’d heard over the phone five days earlier, ordering that she be killed.
“I felt like somebody who had risen again,” she told the BBC.
Though Kalala initially denied all involvement, Rukundo got him to confess to the crime during a phone conversation that was secretly recorded by police, according to The Age.
“Sometimes Devil can come into someone, to do something, but after they do it they start thinking, ‘Why I did that thing?’ later,” he said, as he begged her to forgive him.
Kalala eventually pleaded guilty to the scheme. He was sentenced to nine years in prison by a judge in Melbourne.
“Had Ms. Rukundo’s kidnappers completed the job, eight children would have lost their mother,” Chief Justice Marilyn Warren said, according to the ABC. “It was premeditated and motivated by unfounded jealousy, anger and a desire to punish Ms. Rukundo.”
Rukundo said that Kalala tried to kill her because he thought she was going to leave him for another man — an accusation she denies.
But her trials are not yet over. Rukundo told the ABC she’s gotten backlash from Melbourne’s Congolese community for reporting Kalala to the police. Someone left threatening messages for her, and she returned home one day to find her back door broken. She now has eight children to raise alone and has asked the Department of Human Services to help her find a new place to live.
And lying in bed at night, Kalala’s voice still comes to her: “Kill her, kill her,” she told the BBC. “Every night, I see what was happening in those two days with the kidnappers.”
Despite all that, “I will stand up like a strong woman,” she said. “My situation, my past life? That is gone. I’m starting a new life now.” Below is the video tape of the saga.

Tragedy As Actor Dies Performing 'Hanging Scene' On Set

An Italian fresh graduate of the school of Drama in Italy has died on stage while acting a scene where he was asked to hang himself. The 27 year old man has been reportedly dead.
In the courtyard of Teatro Lux, a theater in Pisa, Italy, the performtragedy ance of an experimental production on Saturday offered an unusual spectacle. The play, called “Mirages,” was not performed from a stage, but throughout the theater by different actors in different places. The audience moved through the play as one might move through a gallery.
Then, the surreal scene got even more so: An actor performing a monologue in which he simulated hanging, either accidentally or purposefully, hung himself for real in front of a single member of the audience. Now, 27-year-old Raphael Schumacher is dead, and two directors and two stage technicians are being investigated for manslaughter, as ANSA News reported.
“The actor was supposed to perform a short monologue, revolving around the difficulties experienced by a 15-year-old boy and including a hanging simulation at the end,” prosecutor Giancarlo Dominijanni told Il Tirreno. “The original script included an interaction between the spectator and Schumacher before the tragic event. It was performed successfully earlier on Saturday evening, when he ended the scene laying his head in the noose.”
Schumacher, as the BBC reported, was rescued by the audience member, who happened to be a recent graduate of a medical school and who, though Schumacher’s face was covered, saw his body twitching. But the damage was irreversible. He never recovered consciousness and was declared clinically dead Thursday.
Questions about how he could have met such a tragic fate — and speculation over whether he meant to kill himself — have been raised as details of the strange incident slowly emerged in Italian media and English-language outlets.
“I strongly believe he did not try to commit suicide,” the actor’s mother, unnamed in an Il Tirreno report, said. “… His father died recently and he had just broken up with someone, but he had soon regained inner peace. He didn’t leave any messages and had no reason to kill himself.”
However, others pointed out that Schumacher had changed the original ending of his scene in “Mirages.”
“The script included a different ending, a gunshot. Raphael changed it without telling us,” Andrea Vescio, one of the managers of Teatro Lux, said. Vescio added: “All I can say is that I saw a 27-year-old boy on the ground, unconscious. He was performing a hanging scene in front of a sole spectator, the young graduate who called for help.” (The ANSA report that confirmed Schumacher’s death did not name the theater staff under investigation.)
“We are truly shocked,” Gabriele De Luca, art director of the theater, told Il Tirreno. “We don’t know what happened exactly, nobody knows. We immediately started collaborating with the investigators. … We just hope Raphael will get better soon.”
In the wake of the tragedy, the theater has been closed.
“Following the imponderable tragedy that occurred at the Theater Lux in the night of Saturday 30 January, we believe it is appropriate to suspend all activities of the theater, including the shows,” the theater said in a statement translated to English on its Facebook page. “As soon as the activities will resume it will be our care to communicate through our website, our profiles on social networks and the media, the press. We will of course have to reimburse as soon as possible all those who had already bought tickets. Some of your understanding we hope you can respect this silence, we salute you.”

Schumacher graduated from drama school last year; Teatro Lux is a venue in downtown Pisa that includes a movie theater, bar and performance space. An English translation of a mission statement posted to its website reads: “We want to dispel the myth … that theater is something boring and challenging, suitable only for young ladies in fur coats and tails, and rediscover the playful and popular — in the best sense of the term — soul of the theater.”

World's Richest Woman Selling Off Prime Properties...$48m Ranches Up For Grab!

A look at the two legendary ranches that Alice Walton is selling.

If you’ve ever wanted to live the life of a rancher, now is your chance. Alice Walton, a billionaire heiress to the Wal-Mart fortune, is selling two Texas ranches with a total of 5,872 acres of gorgeous scenery, extensive river frontage, buildings, and the ability to keep oil and gas drillers off the properties, if you want. All you need to is pony up $19.8 million for a high-profile working horse ranch, and another $28.7 million for a secluded and expansive getaway. Total tab: $48.5 million.
The 65-year-old Walton is a daughter of Wal-Mart founder Sam. She and her family own about 50% of the retail behemoth. Alice Walton alone is worth an estimated $31 billion and is one of the world’s richest people.
Alice Walton also is reputed to be one of the top cutting horse breeders in the country. But Walton said she wanted to focus on the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art that she founded four years ago in in Bentonville, Arkansas, the headquarters of Wal-Mart. According to the Dallas Morning News, Walton has a $500 million art collection housed at the Crystal Bridges Museum of America. “I’ve been stretched in too many directions and I want to get focused,” Walton said, in explaining her decision to sell.

She is selling the 1,456-acre Rocking W Ranch — “one of Texas’s most iconic,” according to Williams Trew, one of the two real estate brokerages handling the sale — 45 miles west of Fort Worth for $19,750,000. (Sorry, thehorses, tack, and equipment are separate.) Walton will still be in the general area, though, as she owns a home Fort Worth.
Horse arena with bronzed horse statues
There is a three-bedroom contemporary house that is 4,100 sq. ft., including a library and main gallery, according to the Williams Trew listing. Venetian plaster walls, mesquite floors, sycamore and cherry cabinets, and a home automation system combine Western culture, style, and high tech convenience for a “state of the art” and “comfortable” residence that is an “ideal spot” for outdoor enthusiasts. The building sits on a hill with spectacular views, particularly from the large covered deck at sunset, surrounded by mature oak trees.
There are additional guest and staff residences and extensive paved roads on the property. More than 250 acres of coastal Bermuda pasture offer hay for cattle and horses. The ranch comes with hay and equipment barns and a 24-stall horse barn, with an outdoor arena. There is “excellent wildlife habitat” and close to a mile of Brazos River frontage, according to McAllen Coalson, a broker at Coalson Real Estate, the other brokerage handling the sale
A retreat on the Brazos River
The other ranch, unnamed and largely ignored in most reports about the property sale, comes with 4,416 acres and 8.5 miles of frontage on the Brazos River, southeast of Possum Kingdom Lake, a popular weekend recreational destination, according to Coalson. The second property has a 4,346 sq. ft. lodge, built in 2005, with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths, with a sauna in the master bath.
Oil, gas rights included
“Significant” mineral and water rights are available for both properties, according to Coalson. “[Mineral rights, which include] oil and gas rights are very important because you have more control over the surface [of the property],” he said to Fortune. In other words, no one else yet owns the rights to drill for and pump oil and gas, which involves large and ugly equipment left on the groups. And the water rights “are unheard of,” because they give the owners the opportunity to pump water from the Brazos River, even during dry spells.
The properties were put on the market less than two weeks ago. Coalson said that normally a property like either of these could take one to two years to sell, but given all the publicity the sale is getting, “I expect it to be half that time.”
According to global real estate firm Savills Studley, U.S. residential property has become a hot investment commodity. “A lot of other countries and cities around the world have seen a lot of growth,” Yolande Barnes, director of Savills World Research, told Fortune. However, prices in the U.S. have been stable and lower. “These sorts of country estates, country properties, are still looking relatively cheap at a global level.”
But the buy ultimately is still likely to be someone from the United States. “Rural real estate has been less attractive to the new wave of money coming out of Asia,” Barnes said.
