The name, Rachel might not readily come to mind but the bunch of talent is the better-half of ace broadcaster, Israel Edjeren, one of the pioneer staff of the Sunny Osa Adun owned Degue Broadcasting Network, DBN. Rachel, an English Language graduate of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria is no doubt the woman to beat as the beautiful presenter/producer of Trends & Rachel fame (a TV programme running in many popular stations) recently carted home an international award in far away United Kingdom.
The hardworking mother of one was
the cynosure of all eyes at the Nigerian Entertainment & Lifestyle Awards
that held at The Regent in the United Kingdom where she was honoured with the
Best Emerging Presenter In Nigeria award for her impressive track records in
the industry.
She’s the brain behind RAYZEDS
MEDIA, a production company that produces her programme-Trends & Rachel
(T&R)’ currently serialized across rated TV stations; AIT, NTA
International (DSTV), NTA Entertainment (Startimes), ITV Abuja, QUEST TV, MyTv
Africa, etc. She also had a 5 minutes fashion segment; ‘STYLECODE’ for NTA
Network/International (AM EXPRESS). Rachel is a presenter of a high
viewership. The Hausa version of TRENDS & RACHEL (T&R) ‘YANAYIN ZAMANI
da RACHEL’ shows on Africa Magic Hausa and makes Rachel very beloved amongst
the people of the Northern part of Nigeria and Hausa speaking people round
Africa.
A thoroughbred professional of sterling
quality, Rachel nee Bakam who was born, bred and buttered in Kaduna is no new to carting home mementoes as she has
won many laurels both in her post primary and undergraduate days, little wonder
the woman of virtue came out in flying colours and walked tall as Best
Graduating Student in ABU in 2005.

mother, wife and entrepreneur of repute is a super actress who has acted and honoured
alongside A-list Nollywood stars and renowned professionals such as Desmond
Elliot, Mo Abudu, Chocolate City, Ghanaian Actors Van Vicker, Jackie Appiah and
a host of others. In December 2013, she was given the Best Upcoming Presenter

And as if that’s not enough, the tube amazon is getting, yet another invitation as the organizers of the prestigious African Women In Business, an annual event that celebrates International Women's Day has wooed her to be a VIP guest at the show which holds on the 6th of March 2014 at the House of Lords, Houses of Parliament, Westminster. The event will have the Deputy Governor of Lagos State as Special Guest.
Other important international award ceremony she’s slated to grace is the Media Excellence in Africa holding on the 28th of February, 2014 at the Presidential Banquet Hall, State House, Accra, Ghana. The African Achievers Awards aims at recognising excellent individuals and organizations that have distinguished themselves while contributing to the growth and development of Africa. Their focus is to motivate all African leaders, including prospective leaders and the youth by recognizing individuals and organizations that have contributed remarkably to the development of Africa. Previous AAA recipients include: Arch Bishop Desmond Tutu, Rt. Hon. Joyce Banda (President of Malawi), Hon. Thokhozani Khupe (Deputy Prime Minister of Zimbabwe), Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, Late Prof. Atta Mills, former President of Ghana, Dr. Rilwanu Lukman, Ugandan Dr. Margaret Blick Kigozi, Sir. Chukwuemeka Ihedioha (the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nigeria), Mrs. Divine Ndhlukula, a Zimbabwean business woman amongst others.
