As Nigeria intensifies her campaign for local content in the Oil and Gas sector, an indigenous wholesale manufacturer of petroleum drilling chemicals, Jemmtek Resources Limited has commissioned a chemical production blending plant in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria.
 

The commissioning was done by the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Content Development Monitoring Board (NCDMB), Engr. Ernest Nwapa (FNSE) on November 13th, 2014 at the company’s premises in Port-Harcourt.
 

The new plant according to the US based managing director of Jemmtek Resources, Jimi Adetula remains the sole manufacturer of TEKMUD Drilling Fluids Additives, and the sole distributor of IBEX Products in West Africa.
 

The history of Jemmtek Resources Limited dates back to 1992, when it set up a blending plant in Trans-Amadi, Port-Harcourt, Rivers State and produced chemicals under the label of IBEX Chemicals Nigeria Limited, the company was later registered as Jemmtek Resources Limited. It is a 100% indigenous company involved in oil and Gas business in Nigeria.
 

Its area of specialty includes but not limited to Drilling Fluid Chemicals& Engineering Services, Solids Control, Oil Tools (Drill Bits) and Production Chemicals. It is also noteworthy to mention that Jemmtek is the Nigerian Content partner to Baker Hughes Company Limited as well.
 

Some of the chemicals produced and blended include Primary and Secondary emulsifiers, Demulsifiers, Drilling detergents, Rig wash and Corrosion inhibitors. The plant is capable of producing up to 500 drums of chemicals in a week. With confidentiality agreement, it can produce special chemicals for other companies on request.
 

Jemmtek has in the last two years drilled and deliver six wells for NPDC on their Oredo and Ogini fields – Drilling Chemicals and Engineering services. We have also deliver three (3) wells for the same NPDC on their Okono field in the area of Solids Control and one well for Allied Energy a subsidiary of Camac Petroleum. Jemmtek in conjunction with Baker Hughes is presently working for Addax Petroleum Dev. Company Limited on TB 2209 (Ossu 23) among others in the area of Drilling Fluid Chemicals and Engineering Services together with the Solids Control Services. It is worthy to mention here that more than 60% of the chemicals used for this operations are blended in our facility.
